Generous Donation of Sports Equipment by Alumnus Mr. Paul Dharshan

On the 31st of July 2023, Mr. Paul Dharshan, an alumnus of our school, generously donated sports equipment valued at approximately 300,000.00 to the school principal. The donated items ui included hardball bats, basketballs, and cricket caps. Mr. Dharshan brought these items all the way from Canada with the intention of aiding the students in developing their sports skills. Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. PrishanthyDharshan, he visited the school in the morning to make the donation.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of various dignitaries representing the Past Pupil Association and Methodist Central College, including the President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and other committee members. The event also saw the participation of Eng. Y. Gobinath, the Former Secretary of PPA, and Mr. S. Sakthiramanan, Chairman of the Sports Council.

In addition to the sports equipment, Mr. Dharshan also generously donated five tents for the scouts, which cost 375,000.00. This donation was gratefully received by our scout, Mr. Chandra Susarman. Furthermore, as a token of appreciation, the Principal presented Mr. Dharshan and his wife with our school caps as mementos.

A few words of introduction about Mr. Paul Dharshan: He is Nithianandan Paul Dharahan from the 1996 A/L batch. He holds the distinction of being the first president scout from Batticaloa and our school. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration at Eastern University and later pursued a law degree in the UK, London. Mr. Dharshan is a past president of the Methodist Central College OBA in North America. Currently, he serves as the Managing Director of his own firm, Prisha Law Professional Corporation, one of the leading law firms in Canada.

Mr. Dharshan's commitment to our school's development spans over a decade, during which he has continuously supported sports, scouts, and education initiatives. We are immensely grateful for his dedication and generosity.
